Knowledge check
Eight questions, most of them situations the course hasn't shown you. Six right passes. You get one submission, and afterwards you'll see why each answer is right.
Ask who notices and what it costs. Match each task to who does it.
The night-shift handover note keeps coming back as a wall of text. Your prompt says: 'Write the handover note from today's log. Be clear and professional.' What's the most useful thing to add?
Who reads it and when (the night lead, in two minutes at the start of the shift) and one example line in the shape you want.
"Be concise" and "Use bullet points".
More of today's log, so it has more to work with.
Put the two-minute check in order.
Anything you didn't give it
Every number back to where it came from
Every name and owner
Read it as the person who'll get it
The tool's draft of the quarterly returns summary for the finance team says: 'Returns fell by a third after the new photo rule.' You gave it this quarter's return figures and nothing else. What do you do?
Cut the line, or check it against last quarter's figures before the summary goes.
Keep it. It's what everyone expected the photo rule to do.
Soften it to "returns seem to have fallen" so it isn't a firm claim.
A draft that reads smoothly and sounds sure needs less checking.
You work in HR ops and want the tool to spot patterns in this year's sickness absence log: names, dates and reasons. What do you do before you paste anything?
Swap every name for a placeholder like "Employee A", take out anything else that identifies someone, and use the tool your company approved. If you're unsure, don't paste it.
Paste it as it is. You're the only one who'll read the answer.
Paste it, then ask the tool to forget the names once it's done.
Every Monday the tool writes the low-stock alert for the warehouse, and every Monday it comes out in a different layout. The warehouse team keeps asking where the numbers went. What's the fix?
Add one example line in the exact shape you want, such as "Pallet wrap: 3 rolls left, reorder by Wednesday."
Add "Be consistent and use the same format every week."
Regenerate it until one layout looks right, then send that one.
You want the tool to spot which customers order less often than last year. The export has company names, contact names, emails and order dates, and you're not sure whether it counts as personal data. What's the move?
Use the tool your company approved, or don't paste it. Your company's AI policy says what it's cleared for.
Ask the tool whether the export is safe to paste, and follow its answer.
Paste it. If it mattered, the tool would warn you.
Finish this check and the academy issues your AI at Work Practitioner certificate for this course, with your name on it. Reading as a guest, nothing is recorded; a free account collects the certificate.
Then fold something on Monday.
